For more than fifty years, Rocky Baker has lived in north Alabama, where he grew up hunting and fishing
and thus learned all about the nature and wildlife of north Alabama and southern Tennessee. As an avid
photographer he has made thousands of photos of the wildlife in the area, including Bald Eagles and
beautiful fields of wildflowers that grow in the area.

In recent years Baker learned to appreciate the rich history of Alabama and the southeastern United States
and saw how so many everyday objects and places in the area reflect the history of America itself, and
thus he started thinking about the term “Americana”. As he started to combine his love of photography with
that appreciation of Americana, this web site came into being – Picture Americana.
