Fayetteville - Lincoln County Museum

The small city of Fayetteville, Tennessee is the home of the Fayetteville - Lincoln County Museum.

An old wheelbarrow in the Fayetteville - Lincoln County Museum
A Very Old Wheelbarrow

The museum is surprisingly large and has lots of interesting things on display, like this old wheelbarrow.

Note the square axel and wooden wheel on this wheelbarrow. I suspect it was made for hauling grain or hay, and not real heavy material; but that is just a guess. What do you think? You can leave comments at the bottom of this page.

This 1924 Fordson tractor and plow are found in the Agriculture section of the museum.

A large and old Holy Bible

Also in the museum, one can find this is a very old Holy Bible. Note the metal clasps.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism in the United States. The Daughters of the Revolution recently presented a show/display about the Revolutionary War at the museum.

This lady was demonstrating how wool is spun into thread.

There was an excellent display of videos and information about the Revolutionary War. That program can also be seen online:

And Miscellaneous Americana

Fayetteville is surrounded by the beautiful Tennessee countryside.

An Old Tire Swing

Back in my neighborhood in north Alabama there are lots of Americana items to be seen. This tire swing hangs in a neighbor's yard even though the kids are now adults.

This metal rooster is in another neighbor's yard just down the road. And it is not hard to find an old barn, old church, or old tractor nearby.

Picture Americana invites you to get out and enjoy a pleasant drive. Keep an eye out for items that reflect American culture or American history.

The history and culture of America are still visible in 2025 if you will take notice as you move around your local area. You just just have to take time to look and think about what you are seeing.

And remember that comments are welcomed here in the box at the bottom of this page. I really like reading those comments. You can ask questions there as well. I will try hard to give you a good answer.

Also note that if you hit that "Log In" button at the top of this page and become a member of Picture Americana, you will get an email notification whenever a new blog is posted. I really appreciate people becoming members.
